The Madison chapter of the Wisconsin Alliance for Composers performs an important service, especially for younger composers: performances, which are probably the hardest things to obtain when you're just starting out.
Not surprisingly, the compositional quality varies widely, but for the most part the performers are highly skilled, which gives new work a decent chance of showing what it has.
