Performers
Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra
David Crosby, conductor

The Concerts on the Square, performing on a cold, bleak Thursday evening after being rained out Wednesday, still does a professional job of playing mostly second-rate music. The audience still chomps and guzzles its way through box suppers in time to show tunes, movie music, and Sousa marches. They still jabber incessantly in the intervals between applause cues, paying the music scant heed. The series gets people downtown, which is good. It gets the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra some operating money, which is good. Artistically, it offers very little, which is not so good. The people who've made it an institution are apparently satisfied, which is too bad.
