Pro Arte Quartet

Originally a Belgian group, the Pro Arte Quartet sought refuge
from Nazism by coming to the University of Wisconsin, where
they became the first musical artists in residence at any
university. A few years ago the Pro Arte benefitted from the
arrival of two excellent young violinsts and is now in the
front rank of younger American ensembles.
